Bio: Great Lakes Crew
The GREAT LAKES CREW features the rap stylings of RON JERO, MO PRICE, THAT DUDE FANI, STEVE G and FRAMEZ. A void in good music leads to a void in the soul of the people. The GLC has noticed this downward spiral on the scene and decided to do something about it. These dope MCs have come to deliver fresh food to a hip-hop nation that’s hungry for something different. Now, they’re on a mission to give every listener a much needed ear massage.
With early recordings starting out back in 2001, the Great Lakes Crew has been making music since their adolescence. By 2007 The Great Lakes Crew released their debut full length LP “Sing Along with the Great Lakes” to continues to be known as regional success, critically acclaimed as one of the four best albums in 2007 by the Toledo City Paper, a new sound was born. Opening for such national act as Wale, Big Sean, One Be Lo, and Afroman, the Great Lakes Crew has become known as a staple in the underground hip hop scene throughout the Midwest.
The GLC brings an unbelievable amount of energy to their performances, mixing influences of backpack and acid rap. Sounding the merging of 70’s jersey beach rock with hardcore hip-hop, and psychedelic rhythms. Often described as a "Happy Wu-Tang Clan" they simply define it as “Lake Music” or “The Sound of the 4th Coast” Originally all hailing from Toledo, Ohio on the banks of Lake Erie, the crew is now operating out of Chicago, Toledo, and Houston.
The Land Of The Lakes marks a brand new totally FREE release from the Great Lakes Crew. Fully loaded with 17 new bangers, it marked the perfect mixtape for the end of Summer.
The album kicks off with the smash tracks “Ball Till I Fall”, and “Little Bit”, and takes you on a smooth cruise through the Land of The Lakes. This mixtape truly offers “something for everyone” according to Ron Jero of the GLC.
What all started as an expression has become a calling and made an impression. Brave young men face the daring task of making some of the best sounds in music out today. They hail from a place of sludge and a time of refuge. These men are going to make it... and they're taking you with them. Don't miss it.
